Hours: Hours will include flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 + Bonus (Based on Experience)

Job Title: Executive Sous Chef

 

Job Purpose

As the Executive Sous Chef at Puttery, you'll be the culinary maestro behind our kitchen operations, ensuring excellence in every dish served. Your role is pivotal in maintaining impeccable cleanliness standards while orchestrating a delightful culinary experience for our guests.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily preparation, presentation, and quality control of all culinary creations.
  • Nurture and mentor our kitchen team through effective training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and safe work environment that inspires creativity and teamwork.
  • Keep a keen eye on budgetary targets, managing labor and food costs efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to innovate and curate menus for various occasions.
  • Step up to the plate in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment in top-notch condition and uphold stringent sanitation standards.
  • Uphold EcoSure and health code regulations to guarantee food safety and hygiene.
  • Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and food cost analysis.
  • Utilize hand-eye coordination and creativity to continuously elevate our culinary offerings.

Additional Information

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated culinary expertise and leadership skills.
  • Effective communication abilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding of safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proficiency in managing food costs, inventory, and procurement.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Prior experience in personnel management and problem-solving is advantageous.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of culinary experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Specialized training in Culinary Arts or a related field preferred.

Skills/Abilities/Personal Characteristics:

  • Proficiency in diverse cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Strong leadership and management aptitude.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and trends.
  • Creativity in menu development and presentation.
  • Effective time-management and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and uncertainty.
