Position Type: Salary + Bonus. 

Hours of Operation: Mon - Thur, 4 PM - 11 PM. Friday, 12 PM -1 AM.

Saturday, 12 PM - 1 AM. Sunday, 12 PM - 11 PM. (GM role will include rotating nights and weekends). 

Title: General Manager – Business Development

Job Purpose

We are seeking a General Manager who is deeply connected to the Houston market, with extensive experience in VIP services, nightlife operations, pop-up events, and driving overall business development.

The General Manager (GM) will oversee all aspects of operations at a high-energy nightlife and entertainment venue, delivering exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and strong financial performance. This leader will drive strategic growth, foster a vibrant environment aligned with the brand’s identity, and build a strong presence within Houston’s thriving nightlife and cultural scene.

Specific Objectives
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of increasing foot traffic, hosting high-impact events, and building partnerships that position the venue as a premier destination for both locals and tourists. This includes catering to special events, expos, gallery pop-ups, and more.

We’re looking for an innovative, results-driven leader to elevate Puttery Houston into a one-stop cultural and nightlife hub. The GM will develop and execute 3-, 6-, and 9-month strategic plans to grow revenue, capture market share, and increase brand visibility. This includes launching themed nights, DJ performances, community events, strategic collaborations, and large-scale activations to firmly establish Puttery as a must-visit nightlife destination in Houston.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across bar, security, VIP, events, and guest services.

• Design and implement innovative programming that drives revenue and enhances guest engagement.

• Cultivate a dynamic nightlife culture that aligns with brand values and meets guest expectations.

• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing management and hourly team.

• Lead operationally during peak hours, ensuring exceptional guest service and atmosphere.

• Manage budgets, monitor KPIs, and implement cost-saving strategies.

• Collaborate with marketing to plan and execute promotions, partnerships, and activations.

• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.

• Build strong vendor relationships and manage operational supply chains.

• Champion diversity, inclusion, and employee development.

• Act as the primary liaison for internal leadership, VIP guests, and community stakeholders.

• Report directly to the Regional Director of Operations and support broader company initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• 3–5+ years as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a high-volume nightlife venue ($8M+ revenue).
• Deep familiarity with the Houston nightlife scene and local event ecosystem.
• Expertise in nightlife trends, music programming, VIP services, and late-night operations.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
• Track record of driving revenue growth, managing large budgets, and improving financial performance.
• Creative thinker able to conceptualize and execute unique event programming.
• Strong conflict resolution and guest service skills.
• Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Availability to work late nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as needed.
• Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

• Significant relevant experience in nightlife or hospitality can substitute for formal education.
